ATTENTION: PREPARING FOR LANDING AT PORT BOREALIS. PLEASE STAY SEATED DURING DESCENT. 

Proxy sighed with relief at the ship’s speaker. Finally, they were home. They couldn’t wait to see their friends and family again after helping Tempest adjust. Firefly, Ocha and Ika were definitely worried. Dusk and his partners were probably wondering what was going on too. And all their kids…Proxy hoped they kept Ika company during their absence. 

Their thoughts were interrupted by a cream spacecat tapping their shoulder.

“I just wanted to thank you again for picking up me and Goldie on the way home. Whoever messed with the ships’ fuel tanks is getting sacked. I apologize for all the inconvenience.” Moonbeam gave a smile. 

Proxy shook their head. “No need for apologies. We may not have found the Cirrocanius otherwise. We have a lot of work on our paws when we get back.”

“Oh…about that,” Moonbeam fiddled with her remaining paw. “I told Goldie to give you some compensation cloudcoins and to send you back home. I don’t want to keep you from your family any longer. It’s been long enough.” 

 “...What? I don’t mind helping out! These Cirros need all the help they can get! At least let me lend a paw with the sick!” Proxy began to protest but was stopped by Moonbeam’s paw.

“Proxy, I greatly appreciate the offer, but I know you have a wife and child that miss you. Please, I order you to reunite with them. We’ll be fine.” 

“Oh, alright. But if there’s anything that needs help later, tell me.”

“Of course-” Moonbema was cut off by the ship’s speaker.

WE HAVE LANDED AT PORT BOREALIS. PLEASE EXIT CAREFULLY.

It’s time. 

As all the animals headed to the ship’s exit, Proxy swore they heard voices outside. Maybe it was a flock of birds?

That theory was proven wrong as soon as the hatch opened. 

“WELCOME BACK MOONBEAM AND GOLDIE!!!!”

The returning animals were immediately greeted by a crowd of cats. Some were holding welcome back banners, others had gifts of trinkets and food. It was quite overwhelming, but Proxy held it together for Moonbeam’s sake.  

“What the- How did you know we were back?” Kit said puzzled. 

“Blue detected your ship in the atmosphere!” Rune replied. “Digi made sure to immediately inform us! We were all worried sick!” 

“Really?” Goldie said. “We might have to give him a promotion in that case.”

“Yeah, but I have to speak with Tally first. Gotta make sure he didn’t overload our servers with copypastas of the Bee Movie script again.” Moonbeam grumbled to herself. Proxy had a feeling that the nerdy staff cat wasn’t getting a promotion tonight.

“Uh, excuse me, Miss Moonbeam, but what are those huge cloud dogs doing here?” Orchid butted in. She looked a bit worried. 

Moonbeam shook out her fur. “I will explain everything soon. These dogs are our friends. Right now we need medics on hand. Goldie, would you?”

“Yes of course!” 

Goldie ran off to grab a phone. Moonbeam was then swarmed by more cats asking questions and shoving gifts in her arm. And upon realizing kit was missing an arm, questioning her about that. 

After that, Proxy managed to slip out of the crowd. It was getting late. But before they headed to the bus stop, they were stopped by Rebel.

“Hey, Proxy. I just wanted to say…thank you.”

“Thank you? For what?”

“For giving me such a thrilling adventure! See, I’m alone most of the time, so spending time with you…felt really good. Sorry if I was a big pain.”

Proxy grinned. “Everyone's a big pain sometimes. I enjoyed getting to know you. If you ever wanna hang out, I’m sure Ika would love to meet you.”

“Oh my gosh, YES! Seeya soon!”

With that, the two spacecats went their separate ways.

Knock, Knock.

Ocha opened the door to see Proxy outside the house. Before Proxy could speak, they were immediately tackled to the ground in a hug. 

“YOU’RE HOME! Do you have ANY idea how worried we were about you!?!? What on Earth happened? Are you alright!?!”

Proxy coughed in their wife’s chokehold. “I-I’m fine! I didn’t mean to worry anyone, my ship ran into some complications and we had to make an emergency landing where we came out the Cirrocanius which we helped transport to Port Borealis then we had to pick up Moonbeam and Goldie-”

“As long as you’re safe. That’s all that matters to me. Let me get Ika. She’s been barely sleeping.” Ocha headed into the house. A moment later, a small spacecat came bounding in Proxy’s arms. 

“MOM!!!!” 

“Hey little fish. I missed you.”

“I missed even MORE! And we have something to show you! Mama may have done something important while you were away…”

As soon as Proxy entered the house and into the living room, they knew what the “important something” was.

“YOU ADOPTED ANOTHER KID?!”
