New Traits:

For those of you who missed it, we revealed several new traits with this month's gacha!

We are in the process of updating existing characters for these traits. Please be patient while we do so.

GUPPYMANDERS

• Pinniped Body
  • Rare
  • Alters the body structure to be more akin to a pinniped, such as a seal or sea lion. Also encompasses mermaid-like bodies.
• Bubble Gills
  • Uncommon
  • Bubbles coming out of the gills. 

CIRROCANIUS

• All Cloud Tail
  • Rare
  • Allows the entire tail to be made of cloud, with no visible sky.
  • Cloud Tail has been renamed to Cumulus Tail to avoid confusion with this trait.
• Overcast
  • Uncommon
  • Clouds that cover or replace parts of the body.
• Feathers
  • Uncommon
  • Feathers replacing some or all of the fur.

CLAYFOXES

• Translucent Clay
  • Mythical
  • Partially translucent clay. Cannot be entirely transparent.
• Plant Nose
  • Mythical
  • A plant of any kind replacing the nose.
• Iridescent Glaze
  • Rare
  • Solid clay with an iridescent shine to it. May have cracks running through it.
  • Also covers similar effects, such as holographic or pearlescent textures.
• Gem/Rock Tail
  • Rare
  • A tail made entirely of gems or rocks.
  • Golems can use this trait for free.

Pride Event:

As usual, we will be hosting a small event for pride month this year! 

More details will be announced in the event newsletter on June 7th.

All hunt targets have also been removed from their relevant pages. If you find one that we missed, please let us know! The scavenger hunts themselves have been made active again so that users can get screenshots for the turn-in prompt, they will be hidden again on May 2nd  at 23:59:59.

MAy gachas:

We'll be hosting two gachas this month!

USD Gacha [characters]:

The theme for this gacha is Endangered Species! Each design will be themed around an endangered plant or animal species. Each TSS species will be represented in this gacha.

Rolls will cost $20 each. 

This gacha will be hosted on the 15th! A Raffle-to-pay form will be posted in the discord server on the 14th for a select number of slots. The rest will be FCFS!

CloudCoin gacha [OOAK pet variants]:

We will be also hosting a gacha for OOAK pet variants this month! Rolls will cost 2,500 CC each, and will distribute a unique pride themed variant of an on-site pet. These variants will not be obtainable through any other means, and thus are completely unique individuals.

The theme for this gacha is Spring, so all pets will be spring-themed in some way.

This gacha will be hosted on the 15th! A Raffle-to-pay form will be posted in the discord server on the 14th for a select number of slots. The rest will be FCFS!

May breeding Batches:

We're opening breeding slots this month! Slots will cost $15 per baby claimed, as usual.

The raffle to pay form can be found here. This form will close on May 2nd at 3pm EST, and FCFS slots will open 30 minutes later!

Port Chrysanthemum Update:

The rules for Port Chrysanthemum designs have been updated! The new rules are as follows:

• All Port Chrysanthemum Designs should have cleare effort put into them, and must have the following design aspects
  • At least four colors. Can be the same hue, but must be clearly distinguishable from each other.
  • At least two of these colors must be used on fur. Markings cannot only be flat gradients.
• They must also feature at least one of the following:
  
  • At least two layers of markings
    • Gradients on fur can be used but do not count as markings.
  • Prominent accessories
  • One or more miscellaneous traits
  • One or more modifier traits (e.g. Multiple Tails, Fizzy, Simple Dust Pattern)
    • This includes alternative hairstyles!
  • Unique elemental placement (e.g. cutouts)
• If you're confused on any of the above, refer to the below graphic:

We are making some changes to the Ko-fi supporter tiers! The following will come into effect starting in June:

Cadets:

• Will get one random collectable per month!

Commanders:

• Commander Boxes will be guaranteed an uncommon or rare MYO/Character add-on!
• Commander Boxes will also include a random collectable!
• Commander Boxes will have a chance to drop a mythical item or event-exclusive MYO (such as poly selfbreed slots and Covered Baskets)!

Captain:

• Captain Boxes will be guaranteed an uncommon or rare MYO/Character add-on!
• Captain Boxes will also include a random collectable!
• Captain Boxes will have a chance to drop a mythical item or event-exclusive MYO, (such as poly selfbreed slots and Covered Baskets) at a higher chance than Commander Boxes.
• Captain Boxes will have a chance to include a random fabled item.

Operator:

• New $10 tier including all of the rewards from the previous ranks, with a guaranteed mythical item and a higher chance for random fabled items.
• Includes 5 tickets to the monthly supporter raffle.

May BIMONTHLY UNCOMMON MYO RAFFLES:

Some changes are being made to the bimonthly MYO raffles starting this month! There is now only one raffle, which will reward an uncommon MYO choice box++. This means that Clayfox MYOs are now additionally available!

Each MYO is 1,500 Cloud Coins if you win!
Please remember to have the Cloud Coins before entering! If we are forced to reroll you because you did not read this, you will be getting a strike. Thank you.

• All Port Chrysanthemum MYOs from last month have been deleted, aside from those currently in the MYO queue! This does include drafts that were not in the queue, so if your submission was cancelled or you had yet to submit it, you will unfortunately need to obtain a new slot.
• Characters that have been in Port Chrysanthemum for a couple months now have been updated to have the option to be purchaseable with Cloud Coins instead of Starbits! Their Starbit prices have also been slightly discounted.
• Clay is now a possible drop from all crops harvested from Under Awan.
• New collections have been added: Glass Figures Series 2, Flowers Series 6, Spring Hunt 2026 Day 1, Spring Hunt 2026 Day 2, Spring Hunt 2026 Day 3
• The FAQ has been updated.
• The Glossary has been updates.

Cirrocanius Claw Adjustments:

We've made a few adjustments to the way cirrocanius claws. All characters on the masterlist have been updated to reflect these changes already. Changes are as follows:

• Cirrocanius now use and require the Paw trait category.
• The following traits have been added/adjusted:
  • Claw Fingers (Common)
    • Large, thick claws fused with the toes, standard for Cirrocanius.
  • Non-Standard Claws (Uncommon)
    • Regular dog paws with visible toes and smaller claws, instead of claw fingers.
      • If claw fingers or talons are present on one set of paws, this trait is not necessary to add regular claws to the other.
  • Paw Mutations have been upgraded to Rare

Mispellings and adjustments to currency names:

We have consulted a dictionary and discovered that we were right the first time. Port Crysmamethmum has been renamed back to Port Chrysanthemum. 

Clownboins are now known as Cloudcoins!
Starboys are now known as Starbits!

We have decided that these are much better names. We are so sorry for the inconvenience.

Boss Fight [update]:

The Snapping Dragon boss fight is still ongoing! However, there have been a few adjustments.

• Donating Cloudcoins now deals damage at a rate of 1000CC to 1 damage.
• Mythical items are also now able to be donated to deal damage.

The boss fight will end on April 7th! 

After this point, rewards will become claimable to everyone who participated.

Trait Updates:

We've made a few updates to some traits and subtypes! All characters affected have already been updated, but feel free to let us know in the Help Channel if you find one that was missed.

• Extra Limbs [both variants, all species]
  • Has been renamed to Extra Body Parts! 
  • There is no functionality difference, this change is simply for clarity as the trait covers body parts that are not limbs.
• Wings [CRC]
  • Has had its rarity downgraded to Rare! Note that this only applies to the Cirrocanius version of the trait.
• Wild Cat & Wild Dog Subtypes
  • Have had their rarity downgraded to Rare! This applies to Spacecats, Sodacats, and Cirrocanius.
  • Big Cats and Hyenas are still Mythical.
• Conductive Spacedust [SC], Energized Soda [SDC], & Stormy [CRC]
  • These traits are now able to be optional without Multiform.
• Multiform & Color Changing [all species]
  • Previously, having a character change between sclera/pupil color traits, star/bubble/cloud shape traits, and/or substance pattern traits would require both Multiform and Color Changing, as they were changing both colors/markings and the relevant traits. As of now, these changes only require Color Changing. 
  • Here are a few examples of what we mean:
    • A character whose sclera colour changes between white and black, with no other design changes between forms, requires the Dark Sclera and Color Changing traits.
    • A character who has an optional pattern in their spacedust requires the relevant pattern trait and Color Changing.
    • A character with Multiform, who has several optional traits and obtains a sky pattern in their second form, would now require both Multiform and Color Changing.

Spring Hunt:

Our annual Spring Hunt will be hosted beginning on April 20th! This will entail multiple days of scavenger hunts for items, as well as several spring-themed raffle designs.

A newsletter with further details will be put out at the beginning of the event.

Guest Artist opportunity [reminder]:

In case you missed it in yesterday's newsletter, we have guest artist applications open for our annual Spring Hunt! All of the information can be found below.

This is a non-monetary position. Artists will be tasked with creating one Spring themed design of any species. Artists will be compensated for their work with 1,500 cloucoins and 200 starbits.

Anyone of any age may apply. The form will close April 3rd, with guest artists being chosen on  April 5th! The final deadline for designs will be April 16th.

We are aware the deadline for this one is tight, and we apologize. Please only apply if you can make this deadline.

Port Chrysanthemum adoptables that would have reached a price of 0 Starbits this month are currently being raffled off! This will be a monthly occurance, as long as there are characters to raffle.

Poly Selfbreed MYO Queue:

Non-randomized poly selfbreed MYOs now need to be submitted to this queue to have their slot generated, and cannot be opened from the inventory.

This is in order to ensure that selfbreed slots are taken from the parents upon the slot being generated, to prevent niche situations where a parent runs out of slots while a MYO is still pending in the queue.

APRIL MONTHLY MADNESS:

This month’s theme is Bad Weather! Draw or write about your TSS character experiencing bad weather! This could be anything from a bit of rain, to excessive heat, to a natural disaster - whatever they would consider to be 'bad'!

The April Monthly Madness will last till April 30th!

Submissions for the Tax Season prompt will still be accepted until April 7th. Both prompts may be completed this month.

Misc:

• The April Fools Object Body prompt will remain open until April 7th!
• Our species rules can now be found on the site footer! These were previously updated in our Discord server, however we overlooked adding them directly to the website.

We are looking for guest artists to create designs for our upcoming Spring Hunt event! 

This is a non-monetary position. Artists will be tasked with creating one Spring themed design of any species. Artists will be compensated for their work with 1,500 clownboins and 200 starboys.

Anyone of any age may apply. The form will close April 3rd, with guest artists being chosen on  April 5th! The final deadline for designs will be April 16th.

Snapping Dragon

By visiting the link above, or navigating to the Bosses page via the navbar (under Play) you can participate in the fight against the Snapping Dragon!

Damage can be dealt to the boss using the following methods:

• Donating Clowboins: Donating Clownboins directly via the boss fight page will deal damage, with a ratio of 10000CB to 1 damage.
• Donating Items: Donating items directly via the boss fight page will deal damage, with a ratio dependent on the item's rarity.
• Prompt Submissions: Submissions to any of the Awan Cleanup prompts will contribute damage to the boss fight, with a ratio of 100 damage per submission.

To deal damage via any method besides prompts and click on the Challenge Boss button. From there, navigate to the section for your method of choice, fill out the information, and press the Attack button. Damage from prompt submissions require no further input from you, and will be processed automatically by staff.

Damage dealt is per user - this means that every user will need to defeat it individually. The boss has a total of 1HP. 

The rewards can be claimed from the Boss Fight page. You must defeat the boss to claim these rewards.

They are as follows:

• 1 raffle ticket to win a Object Body trait for your species of choice
• 1 mystery design raffle ticket
• 1 Snapping Dragon pet
• 1 Special Box
• “State of Emergency” patch

Prompts:

We have a very special prompt that can be completed this month!

Story Prompt:

Draw your SpaceStation character with the Object Body trait applied to them! This is for characters who do not have the trait!

Rules:

• If drawing for this prompt, it MUST be a clean sketch with rough colors.
• This prompt MUST be completed by the character owner
• This prompt can only be completed once!
• Your piece MUST be submitted to the event gallery AND Event prompt! (As well as when submitting the prompt, you'll need to link to the gallery submission. Gallery submissions can still be linked to before official approval/while pending, so there should be no reason you can't link it when submitting your piece! Prompt submissions with outside links like Discord, sta.sh, etc. will be rejected.

Port Crysmamethmum Raffles:

A batch of mystery adopts made by our staff members will be released on the 3rd of April!

Misc:

• The event shop has closed!
• For the next week you will be able to convert your leftover sweethearts into cloudcoins. The conversion rate is 1 sweetheart to 10 cloudcoins

• All Port Crysmamethmum MYOs from last month have been deleted, aside from those currently in the MYO queue! This does include drafts that were not in the queue, so if your submission was cancelled or you had yet to submit it, you will unfortunately need to obtain a new slot.

Spring SEASONALS:

The season has rolled over, and the spring prompts and locations are now available! As usual, this comes with a few new items and pets.

Selfbreed limits + updates:

As outlined in the previous newsletter, we are adding a limit to the number of times a single character can be used for a selfbreed slot, in order to keep character lineages under reasonable control. This has now been implemented.

Each character now has a total of 10 selfbreed slots. Every selfbreed MYO used will consume one slot on each parent, even if the slot is able to roll twins or triplets. Slots and characters that existed before this update have not been counted - regardless of if your character has previously had zero or fifteen children, they now have 10 slots available. Staff run breeding batches do not consume slots, due to their nature.

We have also introduced a new item: The Refresh Charm is available from the Starbit Exchange, and restores 1 selfbreed slot to any character. Note that characters are unable to go above 10 slots, so a Refresh Charm can only be used on a character that has already been selfbred before.

Non-random selfbreed update:

The non-randomised selfbreed MYOs (such as Love Stars) are now used in the same way as the randomised ones, in order to properly subtract selfbreed slots. They do not roll any traits and cannot roll twins or triplets, and have had no changes to their functionality aside from the way you open the slot.

Boss Fight Results:

Through community effort, the Lovesick Vulkanspinax boss was defeated only a few days into the event! Thank you to everyone who participated.

Rewards are claimable to everyone who participated. If you haven't claimed them already, be sure to do so before the end of the event.

Valentines Event Extension:

Due to the several day long downtime, we have extended the Valentine's event by 3 days. It will now end on March 10th.

The event shop will remain open for a few days after this time to allow users to spend their event currency.

Site Update:

The reason for the lengthy downtime this month is that we have once again switched hosting providers. This was done to hopefully combat the excessive lag issue we have been experiencing these past few months. We apologise for the inconvenience, but with any luck the site should be running more smoothly now.

If you notice any new bugs or errors, please be sure to report them. Pre-existing bugs do not need to be reported again.

You can now create your own shortcuts on-site! This is accessible under Shortcuts -> Edit Shortcuts on the navbar.

Custom shortcuts will appear on the sidebar and under the shortcuts menu on the navbar! These can be any link you like, and use any label. They are viewable only to you.

User Watching:

It is now possible to watch a user from their profile! Recent gallery submissions from users you watch will be displayed on the front page.

Users will not be notified if you watch or unwatch them, and there is no public list of who you are watching or how many watchers you have.

PLEASE READ THIS NEWSLETTER IN FULL.

An Important Reminder:

We do not tolerate any form of cheating in our events. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Multiaccounting, including getting friends to sign up just to send you items
• Exploits that are discovered that are not promptly reported, and are instead used to get a large quantity of items
  • You are also disallowed from telling other people about exploits that you find, other than staff when you report it
  • If you find an exploit by mistake, you will not be punished so long as you let us know immediately
• Hacking the website, or other people's accounts
• If you cheat in these ways, then we will find out. We do not tolerate it whatsoever, as it gives users an advantage over others. This includes getting a mass amounts of MYOs to use to make characters, as well as trading illegitimate items for art and characters.

If we catch you cheating, then you will be given a full-site ban, the length of which varying depending on the severity of the offense.

Art Redemption Update:

We have fixed the issue we were having with criteria on gallery submissions, so art redemption - including Monthly Madness - is now done entirely through the gallery once again!

For those who are not familiar, this means that you must include criteria on your gallery submission!

The respective prompts have been hidden as such. This only applies to regular art redemption and Monthly Madness - all other galleries and prompts are unchanged.

If you've submitted to the Art Redemption or Monthly Madness galleries while criteria was broken, you may have recieved notifications about us processing your submissions! You can ignore them, as we just needed to clear out a queue. 

Peace & Love Rerelease:

As mentioned in our last newsletter, this year we are rerunning our Peace and Love event from 2024. 

The corresponding dialogue event can be read here! This event was written by GalacticRing.

Note that while the story itself has received no changes, each route has an updated prize code, containing Sweethearts and a small number of items each.

Several removed food items are returning with this event, and several collectables that previously lost their recipes are now craftable again! Prompts:

We are rerunning the original Peace and Love prompts from 2024! Note that if you completed the story prompts during the initial run, you may now complete them again.

As a reminder:

Story prompts can only be completed once per person. They must also be completed by you. While you can include other users' characters (with permission), the focal character(s) must be your own and other users cannot submit your drawing to the prompt.

Event prompts are repeatable, and can be completed as many times as you want during the event's duration, in order to obtain resources and other items. Other people can fulfill event prompts for you, as long as they feature your characters! Be sure to read the prompt rules thoroughly.

Boss Fight:

LOVESICK VULKANSPINAX

Damage dealt is collaborative - every user deals damage to a global pool. The boss has a total of 5000HP.

• For participating in the fight, you may claim a raffle ticket for a Valentine's themed mystery design!
• When the boss has lost 25% of it's HP, you may claim a Selfbreed Choice Box!
• When the boss has lost 50% of it's HP, you may claim an Uncommon MYO Choice Box!
• When the boss has lost 75% of it's HP,  you may claim a Lovesick Vulkanspinax Pet!
• When the boss is defeated, you may claim a Covered Basket!
• In addition, each damage threshold reached will grant 25 Sweethearts, and defeating the boss will grant 50 Sweethearts!

The boss fight will last until March 7th, after which rewards will be manually claimable!

Sweethearts & event shop:

Sweethearts are returning as an event currency! They can be obtained primarily via the event prompts, foraging, and encounters. They can be used in the event shop!

The event shop sells random flowers, the Valentine's user borders, new site themes, the Valentine's Recipe Book, and all selfbreed items - including a new one!

Covered Basket:

The Covered Basket is a new randomized selfbreed slot for mixed species pairings!

These slots need to be rolled manually by staff, and can be submitted to this queue. There is no poly version at this time. As with all random selfbreeds, they have a chance of producing twins - they additionally have a very small chance to produce triplets.

Covered Baskets are available in a limited quantity per user from the event shop! After the end of the event, they will be added to the Starbit Exchange.

New Site Themes:

We've added two new site themes! These can be unlocked by purchasing and opening their items from the event shop. 

Lovesick (Goldbeam) is a light mode theme, whilst Lovesick (Tempcyon) is a dark mode theme.

If you notice any issues with any of the themes, please let us know so we can fix it!

Ko-fi updates:

Two updates in regards to the Ko-fi!

Firstly, the Valentine's Bundles have been added to the cash shop and may be purchased for the duration of the event. The Covered Basket is also now available.

Secondly, an amendment to the rules: while reviewing the rules, we decided we ought to clarify for the future that we do not offer refunds to purchased items or subscriptions unless you were erroneously charged. This means that if you purchase an item and regret it, mistakenly purchase the wrong item, or purchase an item and then get banned (temporarily or permanently) for a rule violation, you will not recieve a refund. Please be absolutely certain that you are purchasing the correct item, and that you actually intend to use it in the near future.

Selfbreed limits:

We're currently discussing adding a limit to how many times each character may be involved in selfbreeds. While we still need time to finalise the specifics, this is an advance notice that a limit will be implemented in the near future.

While we understand that this may be disappointing, this is a decision being made for a number of reasons, including the need to keep family lines under reasonable control.

We will not be revoking pre-existing Pairing Slots, even if they go far beyond the limit. However, we ask that you please do not attempt to pre-emptively generate dozens and dozens of slots on one character in anticipation of this rule. Staff-run breeding batches will not be affected and will not count towards the limit, since individual users have no control over the size of those batches.

This is not a decision that is being made in response to any one individual character or user, nor is it intended to be a punishment. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Misc:

• The user shop bug that was previously corrupting items has been fixed! Let us know if you find it persists.
• The pet drops bug that was preventing drops from being collected has been fixed! Let us know if you find it persists.
• The Port Chrysanthemum adoption stock, user character art, and user character design pages are now paginated.
• We'll be doing some site maintanence on March 1st. The site may be down for several days as a result.
• The Valentine's event will last until March 7th! Depending on how long maintanence lasts, this may be extended.
