Species Rules

All members are required to read and abide by the Species Rules when using our site! Failure to do so may result in infractions, permanent bans, etc. Claiming to have not known about rules (they are easily accessible via the footer of the page) will not cause punishment for breaking them to be revoked or lessened. By using our site, you are inherently agreeing to the Species Rules, as well as our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Please be sure you have reviewed our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy upon creating an account.

1. SPECIES RULES

  • The Space Station is a closed species ARPG. TSS characters are not free to make, and must be either purchased or created using on-site items earned through trade or participation in the ARPG. Characters are only considered official TSS characters once they have undergone the approval process and been put on the masterlist.
  • You must own a site account to own a TSS character. You do not need to be active, however.
  • In regards to ‘off-brands’: We do not claim to own any combination of features present on TSS species, and will not restrict ‘off-brands’ or ‘knock-offs’ in any way. All we ask is that you do not claim them to be TSS characters.
  • Please do not publicly post unapproved TSS characters. Wait until your design is approved before posting it to websites such as Toyhou.se, please. Private uploads are acceptable.
  • Credit artists and designers appropriately. When submitting designs for approval on-site, or posting characters off-site on websites such as Toyhou.se, please ensure that the designer(s) and artist(s) are properly credited.
  • Character imports: Non-TSS characters may have TSS forms created for them freely so long as you are the owner, through the same process as any other MYO. Please ensure that you have permission from the original designer before importing them to TSS, and disclose any non-TSS forms in your submission. All forms must be traded together and cannot be separated.
  • All TSS characters must be visually distinct. We may request that you alter your design if we feel it is particularly similar to another on the masterlist. This includes twin designs and other related characters - they must be immediately identifiable as separate characters, and not two variants of the same design.
  • Breeding restrictions: In addition to the limitations of the relevant self-breed slot or breeding batch, you must always get permission to use characters that you do not own in breedings. Characters that are related to each other, either through on-site lineages, CBC sources, or your own personal lore, may not be bred together, nor may adults with underage characters.
  • Inappropriate character inspirations: MYOs cannot be themed around or reference NSFW topics, including fetishes and kinks, or real-world drugs, militaries, countries, or historical/current events. Medicine (including needles), alcohol, and fictional drugs, worlds, and events are fine.
  • Please do not edit or repost site assets without permission from the artist. While site assets may be used on-site or in our Discord server, please do not repost them elsewhere or edit them without asking! Some of our artists may not be comfortable with it.
  • Cheating is prohibited. Cheating to receive extra rewards on-site is grounds for a ban. This includes, but is not limited to, multi-accounting and deliberately abusing bugs and exploits.
  • Report any bugs experienced on-site. Please check recent dev logs and newsletters to see if we are already aware of the issue. If not, please let us know! You will not get into trouble for experiencing a bug as long as you are not abusing it deliberately. Please include any relevant screenshots/recordings and context in your report. You may report bugs by opening a ticket via the link on the site footer.

2. VOIDING AND UNVOIDING

  • Characters may be voided freely at any time. Just contact a staff member and we will sort if out for you. We ask that you have permission from the character’s designer before voiding.
  • Be warned that you cannot unvoid a character that you voided yourself, so be absolutely certain that you no longer wish for the character to be associated with the species. This is a permanent decision.
  • Voided characters are no longer considered TSS characters. This means that they are not eligible for TSS-related activities and rewards.
  • Obtaining a voided character: If you obtain a voided character in a trade and wish to unvoid it, you may contact a staff member. This will not cost any currency or items unless otherwise specified. You will need to provide proof of ownership and a clean version of the masterlist image.
  • Please do not obtain a character with the sole intent to void it. If you change your mind later, that’s fine.
  • Characters will be immediately voided upon a permanent ban of their owner. They can still be unvoided if they are under new ownership later.

3. TRADES AND SALES

  • There are no cooldowns on trading or reselling characters. Additionally, no characters are account-bound besides NPCs and staff sonas, so you may trade freely.
  • TSS characters cannot be sold for more than their listed value. A character’s sale value is visible on their masterlist entry. If they do not have a listed value, they cannot be sold for real-world currency.
  • Appraisals: If a character has accumulated art, you may contact a species owner to have the worth of it added to their sale value. Commissioned art and personal art add value, but art received as a gift or part of a non-monetary trade do not.
  • Adopts and customs may only be sold by staff members. Other than select guest artist opportunities, only staff may create official adopts and customs. Paying another user to design your MYO is allowed, but cannot be advertised for within our server or website, and does not add to the character’s value.
  • Trade at your own risk. We are not responsible for whatever happens if you choose to trade or sell characters, items, or currency. If someone you are trading with fails to uphold their end of the bargain, please privately contact a staff member.

4. Content/Character-based-characters [CBCs]

  • All CBCs must be disclosed. CBCs may be created of fictional characters, pieces of media, or music, however they must be clearly disclosed in the comments of your submission. If we find you are deliberately lying about your CBC, you will get a strike.
  • No real-person CBCs. CBCs may not be created of real people, including their personas, avatars, or direct self-insert characters. CBCs based on live action characters are fine, but not their actors.
  • We do not have a public media blacklist,  and we will not be making one. However, some characters and sources may be disallowed. If you want to be certain, feel free to ask in the help channel of our Discord server or contact a staff member.
  • Restricted characters: In general, we will not accept CBCs based on characters that are canonically rapists, pedophiles, fascists, or allegories for such. Murderers, abusers, or otherwise morally corrupt characters are usually fine.
  • Restricted media: We will not accept CBCs from media that excessively glorifies or fetishises morally reprehensible subjects, such as bigotry/fascism, rape, pedophilia, and incest, nor from highly pornographic media. This is judged on a case-by-case basis. We do not ban media for depicting violence, heavy/dark topics, or occasional sexual scenes.
  • CBCs must not be 1:1 with their source. All CBCs must have at least a couple of markings and features that are not directly taken from their source and instead your own creative input. The same rules apply to companions, unless the companion is a member of an entire fictional species and not an individual character, such as a Pokémon or Digimon.

All rules are subject to change.

We will always announce when rules are updated, but be sure to refresh yourself every now and again to ensure you are up to date!
