Pipes… Scary Pipes…

Dr.Rutile was well known for being small enough to get through small spaces and cracks that his wife and two eldest sons couldn’t get through without having to take a few risks, however his wife and five kids knew that he was absolutely terrified of pipes, no one knew exactly why he was afraid of them, however he despised them with a passion, his reasoning? He kept running into them and hitting them when he’d go scavenging around for food and items he could use, back in the day when clayfoxes were still afraid of Cirrocanius after fleeing from them with Yggrasil. However when he was asked to assist with finding pipes and digging up holes to help mark where they were if they were too big to remove, he had hesitated to do so at first, however at the encouragement of his family, he agreed to do so after the promise of his wife making one of his favourite dishes was made as a treat for helping out.

And that’s how he got here, helping everyone out with finding the pipes, dragging up smaller pipes to the surface if they were loose enough for him to remove them. He spent potentially 10 minutes digging around, not finding anything before he suddenly… Hit a large pipe square in the face! He made a squeaking sound as he held his snout in his paws, tears forming in his eyes. At least he found a pipe! A really… big… pipe… ouch. After taking a moment to recover from his collision he began making a small clearing, searching for any additional pipes in the meantime. He began finding tons of smaller pipes that were loose enough for him to remove from the larger structure that consisted of many, many pipes of all shapes and sizes. This must have been a goldmine of sorts or something considering how many he found! 

In the end the clearing had grown bigger than what he had intended for it to be, and eventually resulted in the clearing itself becoming a hole that reached to the surface, which resulted in a few Clayfoxes and Spacecats poking their heads into the hole to see what was going on, only to find that Dr.Rutile was having the time of his life gathering as much pipes as he could, placing them into a section within the clearing, and making more space if needed, preparing them for warriors or even larger Clayfoxes to assist with taking up some of the bigger ones. After a while he scurried off to go look for some more pipes underground, going at it again by making a small clearing, expanding if necessary, gathering all the pipes in one place that he could manage to move and then repeating the process repeatedly, following the same large pipe that he ran into earlier as his guide. 

Fast forward to 5 hours later, he had successfully made over 4 large holes full of pipes that were ready to be unearthed by others that were assisting with the cleanup. He went onto a different section of the site, digging for approximately 25 minutes until he found a few clusters of small pipes, pipes that were relatively loose as well. He spent the rest of the day just picking apart the pipe structure, following each end of it and taking up the pipes that he found, setting them neatly in a pile as he brought them up to the surface. He left it there for the day before leaving for the night. 

The following day he went back to help take the smaller pipes and some of the small pipes back to the main site, making sure to assist with the remaining parts of the cleanup and helping out with carrying pipes from other sections of the deconstruction site, thinking about how this was going to be the last time he does anything that involves the inclusion of pipes, that is unless he was bribed by his wife’s cooking. Note to self; if you truly need Dr.Rutile’s help for anything, he will usually do it without hesitation, that is unless it involves pipes, then ones hope of getting him to help with that is very unlikely unless he is bribed with something like a treat of some kind as a reward.
