Shading Guide

Shading Categories:

UNSHADED: No visible shading. Eyeshines alone do not count as shading.
MINIMAL SHADING: Shading on small parts of the character, such as shading only under the chin or on far limbs. Simple gradients that do not conform to the shape of the character also fall under this category.
STANDARD SHADING: A single later of shading/lighting applied consistently across the entire peice, following the shape of the character. Any shading style is acceptable.
DETAILED SHADING: Multiple layers of shading/lighting applied consistently across the entire peice, following the shape of the character. Multiple values must be used to create depth and/or detail. A single later of shading alongside minimal shading does not count as detailed.
