[Gift] Research Search
“We need you Mr. Levi to go on this planet, There's been a distress signal going on. We already had a few cats searching, but they usually came back empty handed. So we need someone else instead of our usual teams. And that's where you and your teammate will come in.” Said a dark gray and white furred spacecat, her extra arms in the shape of scorpion claws holding papers, sitting across her desk is an orange spacecat. He had a bored face, his hairless paws on his cheeks. “Yeah, yeah… I go on a planet, save some mystery guy then swoop out! I gotcha.” Levi said, standing up and stretching, his claws stretching, before starting to walk off.
“Yes but-”
“No worries! I got ittt!”
“Mr. Levi I'm not don-”
Before Levi's paw could get to the door, it opened on its own revealing a black and white cat with purple eyes, red stars painted the stardust and both Levi and the other feline stared at each other for a moment.
“...Sup.”
“Nope. Nuh-uh!” Levi immediately went, looked back at the six-legged cat. “I am NOT going with him! Give me anyone else but him!” he complained, a claw pointing to the now annoyed, half-blind cat, his six-ears folding back, fur puffing up. “I haven't even done anything!”
“Yet! You haven't done anything yet! I bet you're gonna leave me on the planet to let me freeze into an ice brick!”
“Honestly I don't think the cold would even bother you, knowing you.” Amaris huffed with an annoyed grin.
“So you would do it if you could!”
“What- no! I'm not going to do that! Don't put words in my mouth!”
“Liar!”
“Oh my g-”
A slam would be heard on the desk, causing Amaris to wince in pain from the loud noise and Levi jump back. The two cats looked back to the six-legged spacecat; Scorpion to see her wife glaring at the two with Scorpion looking annoyed. The Orange and Cream cat stare a moment longer, making both Amaris and Levi back from each other before she sighed and smiled, her permanently closed eyes creaking up with her smile.
“Much better! I made cookies for you all, and you both listen to my darling! She hasn't finished talking.” She chirped, rubbing her head lovingly against Scorpion's. “Thank you Eloise.” Scorpion purred before watching her wife leave the room with four little ducklings following her.
Once Eloise was gone, Scorpion crossed her claws. “Now. As I was trying to say. I need you both on.this mission. I've heard how you were both once an unstoppable duo. Now. I don't know what happened between you two. But it's not my business and I'm not paid enough to deal with whatever is going on here, and honestly. I don't really care. So you're gonna have to suck it up.”
Levi puffed up to Scorpion's words. “No! No! I am NOT going with him and you cannot make me-”
Levi is now sitting on a chair with the most inner rage a small orange cat could express, it didn't help with an annoying Amaris looking at Levi with a smug grin.
“So-” Amaris would start, just to be cut off by the other spacecat turning his head to glare at Amaris, which made him look away with a small nevermind squeaked out. The rest of the ride was quiet until a small robot voice chirped out with a large screen popping on the front window with a pixelated cat face. “Landing! Landing! We have reached the destination! Welcome to Awan!”
“Yeah, yeah. Sweet. Where’s the signal?” Grumbled Levi, his cheeks puffing up getting out of his chair to go closer to the screen. Said screen would turn into a map. With a big red dot. “The signal is up to the north! I landed here because it's safer. So you'll have to walk the rest of the way! But don't worry! I will have a digital map attached to your wrists before you leave! As well with food in bags. A friend of yours suggested your favorite foods to be added as well.” The cheerful high-pitched voice would say, which made Amaris raise an eyebrow, but the black and white cat did not question it. Levi on the other hand beamed because that met possible peach chips, which was clearly the best food in the world by his standards. “Sweet.” Came from a very pleased Levi.
Once both Amaris and Levi got themselves ready for the journey, the ship chirped one last warning. “Oh and please remember to be careful! Awan is very dangerous this season! Lots of possible caveins!”
The ship door soon opened and the two space cats walked out into the strong blizzard. After a long walk, Levi spoke; “Hey, see anything?” Amaris gave a scoff in return, ”Obviously, I don't, you're the one with perfect vision.” Levi turned his head. “Really? Now? We literally have a job to do.” Amaris simply sneered. “You have a job to do. I'm only here to help, I'm sure a cat like you can do it all by himself.” he then walks past Levi, his shoulder bumping against the other, leaving Levi annoyed. “Can you at *least* hear something.” He asked after.
“Not much can be heard with this blizzard going on.”
“How wonderful, but sinceeeee we might be here a while, I say we look for shelter. I think there's a city close by. There could be a good place to stay until the blizzard slows down, we're too far from the ship anyways!” Levi says, walking behind Amaris and keeping a careful eye out.
As the two walked for what felt like hours, Amaris’ ears were flat against his head, his good eye squinting through the blizzard, Amaris stopped walking for a moment to ask Levi a question, however before he could, the snow shifted under him, and Amaris started to sink down.
His eyes widened as his claws unsheathed out to try to grab something but when he failed, furless paws grabs onto Amaris’ own paws and tried to pull him out of the snow burying him in, just for it not to be enough as the snow started to sink the orange spacecat in as well and paws slipped apart. The last thing Amaris could remember was a muffled call before the snow fully covered him in.
I'm sure they're fineeeee
