A dwarf star is the official MYO slot for Spacecats! If you want to design your own Spacecat, you need to have one! By default, a dwarf star comes with unlimited common traits, but UC, rare, and mythical traits can be added on by buying essences.

A love star is a special MYO item that works as a single-kitten self-breeding slot. Choose two Spacecats, yours or someone else's, and design one kitten that they'd have. Both parents must have masterlist entries, and you must get permission from the Spacecat's owner (if using someone else's) to use them as one of the parents.
