Painted Crab

Painted Crab (Summer)

Painted Crabs are born a pale, near-white color. As they age, their diets influence their colors as adults. Their markings only show  themselves as the crabs age, though some patterns are more common in certain enviornments. They seem to have their own sense of fashion, liking to trade shells amongst each other, and will often find small plants, flowers, and even paint-like materials to decorate their own shells.

Variants
Ringed Crab

Painted Crabs of this color are commonly found in coral reefs, but aren't a rare find closer to the surface. True to their enviornment, they most commonly take on coral-like shades of orange and pink. They especially love to change their shells with plenty of options around them!

Spotted Crab

Painted crabs of this color are often found around rivers. Algae is also said to play a part in their color, though it's unclear if it stains their skin or is consumed by them. If they cannot find shells to inhabit, hollowing out small rocks will often do just fine for them!
